Travel Log

July 20, 2004

Hi Everyone! I'm back on terra firma and jumping right into the business of getting my screenplay "Legions of the Fox Fairy" reviewed for potential sale.

I think the Bahamas are a wonderful place to cruise. There is so much to see and do -- whether you want to spend time in remote areas or congregate with other cruisers -- there is a time and place for all of it in the Bahamas. It would be hard to identify a 'favorite' spot, but despite the nearly 1600 sea miles traveled, I would gladly return to the Jumentos and will certainly try again to spend time on the out islands of Mayaguana, Conception, and Inagua. Memories of the kindness and goodness of the out island people linger, as well as the challenges and joys of sailing in general. Most of all the commaraderie shared by the wonderful community of cruisers draws me toward choosing a future life at sea (at least part-time) with like- minded adventurers.

While my screenplay is priority now, I hope to continue adding to my "helpful hints" section for those of you considering a cruise to the area, and will let you know of these additions on my home page in the future, so check back! Please let me know if you want any specific information and I'll be glad to help if I can. Thanks for your support and for checking in with me. Fair winds and calm seas!
