Big Majors Spot     Exumas 24° 11.70N - Longitude 76° 27.60W

Because the southern Bahama Banks are too shallow for deep draft boats (six feet or more), we continued our trip north by going back out to Exuma Sound, and entered Dotham Cut north of Great Guana Cay to get back into the Bahama Banks at a higher latitude.  It was a great day sailing as we headed to the northwest with an easterly wind.  We were headed for Sampson Cay, but chose Big Major instead when the wind shifted north, enjoying sailing too much to have to turn on the motor.  I'll never cease to be amazed at just how shallow the water looks here, even when there is 10+ feet below your hull.
