Log May 20, 2004 Update Well, finally found an Internet café in Spanish Wells to send my report after over a month of working my way back north from Georgetown, Exumas. The first draft of the screenplay has been written and the perhaps, more difficult process of editing is underway. The past month has only brought one complication (see Hatchet Bay report) when the motor died as we were entering a narrow cut through two cliffs, but, being the Masters of Disaster that we have become-- we made it through! The downtime permitted an in-depth exploration of Eleuthera's cliffs, caves & people; some memories to be left behind (see Governor's Harbor); new friends made; a movie star encounter; and an opportunity I couldn't resist'seeing a movie (Kill Bill) at one of the two theaters in the Bahamas. From Eleuthera, we will enter the North Atlantic Ocean for the 57 mile crossing to the southeastern Abacos, the only part of the Abaco Island Chain I have not yet visited. Stay tuned! |
