Big Majors Spot, Exumas     Latitude 24° 11.18N - Longitude 76° 27.6W

A front was coming in and caused one of the two anchors to drag bringing the boat precipitously close to the shallow area of our Staniel Cay anchorage.  Since it was still early in the day, we made the decision to go to Big Major's Spot, an island less than 5 miles away and sheltered from the southeasterly winds that were expected.  With great effort, and thanks in part to the bow roller having been repaired, we got the anchor up amidst a pitching sea and made it to Big Major before late afternoon.   The anchorage was full of other boats hiding from the storm, but it is a HUGE place and one that could easily accommodate five times the number of boats without too much danger.   By the next morning, the forecast was for southerly winds so we left there and headed to Black Point, whose harbor is well sheltered from the south.  Also, I understand that there is internet access from there.
