Cave Cay, Exumas     Latitude 23° 54.7N - Longitude 76° 17.5W

Cave Cay was selected as a new Go-To location as the winds started blowing and it was clear that Galliott Cay was not going to be a comfortable or safe place to hide from the expected storm.  Apparently the other 5 boats that hid out here decided the same thing, and by 10:00 AM all the boats were gone from the anchorage.  We decided to leave too, seeing how the current was playing tricks with our all-chain rode and leaving us sideways to 20 knot winds.  I did some quick navigation, popped the coordinates into the GPS and we were out of there as the waves began to build.  Cave Cay proved to be a good choice for an anchorage.  The relative height of the island really blocked the wind, and though it seemed like an exposed spot, it really was comfortable during the windy weather.  Anchor watch was not bad since we did not need to be concerned with other boats (there weren't any) but just with the anchor dragging.  Despite the winds the next day, we decided to take a dinghy ride and see if we could find any lobsters (still haven't found any).  We did find a great cave and a hidden marina being built, likely for large megayachts, which was surrounded by rather large homes under development.  Finding we were just about out of water, we made back to Farmer's to fill the tanks since a passage south would not be possible given the wind direction (south) and things were beginning to smell bad in the boat'hint--- it wasn't the boat.
